We have most of our retirement money in IRAs and we didnt realize the tax burden that we and our heirs would be subject to if we just do the RMD. December 25, 2025We have much of our savings and investments in IRAs because we were teacher. We wish we had started converting earlier, but are happy to be on the conversion path now. We urge parents to encourage their children to make backdoor conversions if possible.
December 21, 2025Very happy I decided to use q3 Advisors with my Roth conversion strategy. I struggled modeling all the complexities on spreadsheets and their software covers all the bases. Their approach got me over the hump on deciding if conversions were the right thing to do in my situation. Once I got over my initial concerns (paying taxes upfront, funding the taxes, portfolio value post conversions, etc.), I could see it was the right approach. Just completed my year 1 conversions!
December 20, 2025This is not a hard process. However, there are a lot of alternatives and many different conversion options. Craig’s team lays it out nicely and was willing to spend time answering all of my questions. I’m a spreadsheet and comparison person, so this was exactly what I needed to see. Ultimately it is my decision, and they were great about offering suggestions, along with pro’s and cons of each scenario.
